Meet the Women Behind Soluma

Who We Are

At Soluma, we bring together the expertise of Katie and Lydia, two friends and two trauma specialists, deeply rooted in the somatic field.

What began as endless conversations in the sauna, slowly took shape as Soluma, and eventually became our first offering to the world: Beyond: Trauma Led Training for Somatic Facilitators.

Katie

Katie is a Clinical Psychologist and Somatic Facilitator, who works with the body through breath and movement. Having spent a decade working in the NHS, Katie now specialises in trauma focused modalities for both ComplexTrauma and PTSD. She’s an EMDR accredited practitioner, a parts-work geek, and runs a thriving private practice. Over the years Katie has studied, trained and assisted on, many large somatic trainings and retreats, gaining hands-on experience of group facilitation, including how to hold deep, complex spaces rooted in ethical care.

Our Why:

Between us, we have spent years inside somatic spaces - practising, facilitating, training, and witnessing both their incredible potential and their challenges. We’ve seen how somatic practices can unlock profound healing, but also how easily they can perpetuate pain, shame, and trauma when facilitators don’t yet have the understanding or tools to hold what arises.

Our Mission:

Our shared mission is to change that. Together, as friends and colleagues, we created Soluma to support practitioners, coaches, and space holders to deepen their somatic literacy and understanding of trauma, so they can hold spaces that are deeply contained, ethically rooted, and truly transformative.
